Who we are

The Qing Bao Fan Club is an unofficial fan project that makes free cartoons about Qing Bao, the giant panda at the Smithsonian's National Zoo. It runs this website (qingbaofans.com) and the YouTube channel Qing Bao Fan Club. We are not affiliated with the Smithsonian's National Zoo.

Visiting this website

• No accounts, sign-ups, ads or tracking cookies. You can watch, read and take the quizzes without giving us anything.
• Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits (for example, page views, country and device type). It doesn't use cookies, doesn't identify individual visitors and doesn't follow you to other sites. We only see totals.
• Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information (like IP addresses) to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Fonts. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts are downloaded. See the Google Privacy Policy.
• Links to YouTube. Links to our YouTube channel open YouTube, which has its own privacy policy. Our pages don't embed YouTube players.

Emailing us

If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and message so we can read and reply. We don't add you to any list, share your email or use it for anything else. Kids: please ask a parent or guardian before emailing us, and don't send your full name, address, school or photos of yourself.

Children's privacy

Our cartoons are made for kids, so we've built the site to collect nothing from them. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Our YouTube uploader and YouTube API Services

We use a small private tool to upload our own cartoons to our own YouTube channel. It uses YouTube API Services. The tool:

• is used only by the Qing Bao Fan Club, for our own channel. It has no other users and no sign-in for the public.
• uploads our videos, thumbnails and subtitles, and adds them to our playlists. It doesn't read, collect or store anyone else's YouTube data.
• keeps its Google authorization in private, access-controlled settings, never in public code.

By watching our videos on YouTube, you're using YouTube, which follows the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. The authorization our tool uses can be revoked at any time on the Google security settings page.

Keeping and deleting information

• YouTube API data. Our uploader doesn't store any YouTube user data. The only thing it keeps is the channel owner's authorization, stored privately until it's revoked. Revoking it on the Google security settings page stops all access immediately, and we delete our stored copy when we stop using the tool.
• Emails. We keep emails only as long as needed to reply. To have yours deleted, write to [email protected] and we'll delete it within 30 days.
• Visitor statistics are anonymous totals and can't be linked to you.
